About 40 kilometers east of Chiang Mai is the 'Sankampang', rural villages lost in time, mountain plateaus and fragile cave ecosystems. Muang On Mountain an outstanding looking with 150 meters high. The mountain is separated into 2 sides; one is a magnificent huge cave with beautiful animal alike stalactites. On another side is a limestone cliff. Crazy Horse Buttress is a 70 meter high limestone mountain; the name is after its horse-head formations. This mountain at Muang On, Sankampang is the most beautiful mountain in the area surrounded by magnificent tropical scenery. ------------- Rock climbing is a very challenging sport; height of the cliffs can make people give up so easily. It is also a very dangerous sport for ones who didn?t learn enough in both theory and practical. Learning to climb is very much like learning to ride a bike. You'll never forget the basic moves, but will need years of practice to perfect them. This kind of sport is not only for experts, it is also for anyone who?d like to participate. It is not all about strength, many strong men have been humbled by the feminine graciousness and apparent ease of a woman moving over rock. Climbing is all about balance, knowing your body and being able to reposition it in space. It's about creativity, learning to adapt to what the rock has to offer. It's a whole-body exercise and though your upper body gets a fair share of grunt work, your legs and feet are your most important instrument for upward motion. It's about concentration and overcoming your fears for the void.
